Originally from Detroit, Michigan, (my home town) where he apprenticed for the late Richard Schneider, Jeffrey Elliott has gone on to become one of the most respected luthiers of our time. His instruments are tailored to the individual and this rare, noble, and beautiful example is similar to the guitar made he for Julian Bream in 1985. It is lightweight and has a crystal clear voice with excellent separation from string to string. While volume for the large hall is necessary, it's this guitar's clarity that permits the sound to reach the back rows. The broad spectrum of dynamic responses and wide variety of textures and colors place make it a pleasure to play. The appointments are elegant and unique featuring a spalted rosette, one of a kind silver plate w/traditional pattern ivory button Rodgers machine heads, and an incomparable French polish finsh. The waiting list for a new instrument exceeds 12 years which supports the demand for this makers work.
